NIX Solutions: Altman Seeks Global AI Expansion Funding

As previously noted by informed sources, since the beginning of this year, OpenAI founder Sam Altman has initiated significant efforts to attract funds from international investors. These funds are intended to support the development of infrastructure capable of ensuring, in Altman’s view, adequate expansion rates for artificial intelligence systems.

Focus on U.S. Infrastructure

According to new data from Bloomberg, Altman’s plan prioritizes the development of this infrastructure within the United States. The proposal includes the construction of data centers, new power plants, and transmission capacities. It also involves expanding semiconductor production to meet the growing demands of AI technologies. Altman aims to secure investments from countries such as Canada, South Korea, Japan, and the UAE to bring this ambitious project to fruition. Microsoft, which has already invested over $13 billion in OpenAI, will be one of the key partners in this initiative.

International Investment Efforts

In recent weeks, OpenAI’s management, including Altman, has been actively engaging with potential investors in Japan, South Korea, Canada, the United States, and the UAE. These discussions have occurred alongside negotiations for new investments in OpenAI, which could potentially raise the company’s valuation to $100 billion. Thrive Capital, Microsoft, Apple, and Nvidia are among the entities considering further investment in the startup.

In response to inquiries from Bloomberg, OpenAI emphasized the importance of developing additional infrastructure within the U.S. to promote AI systems on a global scale, adds NIX Solutions. Altman’s efforts to secure funding from UAE investors have also led to multiple meetings between OpenAI’s leadership and representatives from the U.S. National Security Council. Altman believes that if the U.S. does not secure investments from neutral countries, there is a risk that Chinese authorities might do so.
