NIXsolutions: Google’s Deep Research – A New AI Tool

Google has unveiled Deep Research, a new AI feature integrated into its Gemini chatbot. This tool allows users to conduct in-depth web searches on specific topics and generate comprehensive reports summarizing the findings.

Features and Availability

Currently, Deep Research is exclusive to Gemini Advanced paid subscribers and supports English only. Users need to activate it by selecting “Gemini 1.5 Pro with Deep Research” within the Gemini interface.

Once enabled, users can instruct the Gemini chatbot to investigate a specific topic. The tool begins by creating a “search plan,” which users can either edit or approve. According to Google, Gemini conducts several iterative searches, collecting and refining information from various online sources.

Report Generation and Functionality

Upon completing the research, Gemini generates a report detailing its key findings. The report includes links to the sources used, ensuring transparency and enabling further exploration. Users can customize the report, expand specific sections, or export it directly to Google Docs. This functionality is reminiscent of the Pages feature in the Perplexity AI search engine, which also creates tailored web pages based on user queries.

Google introduced this tool as part of its broader Gemini 2.0 launch, positioning it as a step forward in “agent AI,” adds NIXsolutions. These systems are designed to handle routine tasks autonomously. We’ll keep you updated on additional integrations and improvements as they become available.

Additional Updates from Google

In addition to Deep Research, Google announced Gemini Flash 2.0, a faster version of its advanced chatbot, now available for developers. This update highlights Google’s ongoing efforts to lead in the AI space, offering innovative tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
