The artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s startup xAI, has gained a new feature that enables it to take part in creating documents and applications on equal footing with the user. This addition, called Grok Studio, is available to users of both the free and paid versions of Grok via a separate website dedicated to the project.
“Now Grok can generate documents, code, reports, and browser games. Grok Studio opens your materials in a separate window, which allows you and Grok to collaborate on them,” reads the announcement published on the social network X. This isn’t the first case where an AI chatbot is given its own space for collaboration: OpenAI offers a similar function called Canvas in ChatGPT, and Anthropic uses the term Artifacts for its Claude assistant.
Features Comparable to Competitors
Currently, there are no major differences between Grok Studio and similar services offered by other AI developers. Users can view HTML elements and execute code in Python, C++, and JavaScript. All the materials appear in a window located to the right of Grok’s responses, making the collaboration process seamless and intuitive.
What sets Grok Studio apart could be its planned integration with Google Drive, notes NIX Solutions. This new feature allows users to send files to Grok directly from their cloud storage. The chatbot can then work with a variety of file types, including text documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
While the functionality may resemble that of other AI platforms, Grok Studio signals a growing trend of integrating generative AI into practical digital workspaces. We’ll keep you updated as more integrations and tools become available in future updates.
