Google is developing a new mechanism for the Digital Wellbeing service, which is an analogue of “Screen Time” in iOS and serves to control the time of use of the smartphone, reports AndroidInsider. This is indicated by the contents of the beta version of the application. It will be used to track user behavior at night to determine the causes of insomnia. For this, the smartphone will take into account several different factors at once, analyzing not only the applications used, but also data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and light sensor.

All this information is needed in order to determine how the user interacts with the smartphone, how long they use it before going to bed and how long they are awake. This will be facilitated by data from the accelerometer, which is likely to determine the horizontal position of the user. And information about frequently used applications before going to bed will help you to find out which ones would be better to remove or at least set a restriction on their work, so that you can control yourself better.
Digital Wellbeing also has a night note feature. Thanks to it, the user will be able to record thoughts and reminders to themselves in the morning that come to their mind before going to bed. So, at least, the features of the function are described in the beta version of the application. However, it’s not very clear why you can’t use the regular note app for this purpose. Perhaps the whole point is that the night notes are really needed for the user to describe their condition, and Digital Wellbeing helped them build a schedule to get enough sleep.
