If you leave browser tabs open for a long time, it’s easy to lose track and forget which ones you no longer need. Google aims to make it easier to manage your tabs: the company is already testing a new feature in Chrome that promises a more efficient way to organize browsing sessions.
Expired Tabs Feature Found in Chrome Canary
The feature was discovered by a tester known as Leopeva64 in a preliminary version of Chrome Canary. It allows users to see and close tabs that have been open for a week or more. You can close these tabs either selectively or all at once by using the “Clear” button.
Old tabs are labeled as “unused,” assuming that if they haven’t been accessed for a week, they’re likely not needed anymore. However, users can still keep them open if desired, closing only those they no longer want, notes NIX Solutions.
Deployment Timeline and Updates
Reports suggest that this feature has been in development for a while, but there’s no official word on when it will become available in the stable Chrome release. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
