Instagram has launched a function that will allow you to add a status under your profile photo. This change is due to the fact that the social network announced the removal of the Threads application, which was created to communicate with users from the “Close Friends” list, says Postium.
Let’s figure out how this function works and how to set a status in an Instagram profile.
How to put your Instagram status under your profile photo
The status in the Instagram profile header is emoji and text next to it. The status is displayed by photo, visible only to your mutual subscribers, that is, those to whom you are subscribed and who subscribed to you in response. After installation, the status is shown for 24 hours, and then it is automatically deleted.
To add a status to your page, follow these simple instructions:
- After the notification appears, click set status. If you missed this notification, just go to Direct and click “Set status” under your nickname.
- In the window that opens, select one of the standard options by clicking on it. If you want to write your status, click on the smiley below. Select the emoji you want to put and write the status text next to it (no more than 32 characters).
NIX Solutions adds that you can remove or change a status by clicking on it in your profile. Then, in the window that opens, click on the cross next to the set status.
If you haven’t got this option yet, please update the application or try reinstalling it.
Also, note that the function description indicates that the status is visible only to mutual subscribers, not to everyone. And this is a significant limitation, but perhaps in the future the social network will make the statuses visible to everyone.
Recently, Instagram announced that the network will bring back the function of sharing tweets in Stories.
