NIX Solutions: YouTube Introduces New Deepfake Flagging Tool

As a new measure to combat AI-generated content, YouTube developers have added a deepfake flagging tool. With its help, users will be able to tag videos and other materials that imitate their face or voice.

Flagging Process and Review Criteria

Flagged content will be subject to removal, however, only after a series of reviews by the company. During this process, a number of factors will be taken into account, such as whether the content was actually created by AI and how recognizable the subject’s face is in the frame. YouTube experts will also determine whether the content can be called a parody or satire, whether it includes a public figure or famous person, and whether it contains inappropriate actions prohibited by censorship.

Policy Under YouTube’s Privacy Guidelines

The new policy falls under YouTube’s privacy guidelines, and if a deepfake is found, a complaint should be filed immediately. The only exception is when the person is a minor or does not have access to a PC, notes NIX Solutions. We’ll keep you updated on any further developments regarding this policy.

By incorporating this tool, YouTube aims to ensure a safer and more trustworthy platform for all users, reducing the spread of misleading or harmful AI-generated content.
